$7,500 minimum$100,000
Read this before you go any further. This programme works by you stopping payments to the creditors you enrol. That will likely damage your credit, may result in collection activity and in being sued, and may increase what you owe — interest and late fees keep accruing on an unpaid account while we negotiate, so your balance can be larger at settlement than it is today. Before you agree to pay us anything we will put in writing, for each individual creditor, when we will make a settlement offer and how much you need to have saved first.

Everything in the open

A fee you can check with your own arithmetic

The fee

25% of the amount saved — nothing else

“Saved” means the balance owed at enrolment minus what is actually paid to settle, applied identically to every enrolled debt2. No enrolment fee, no monthly fee, no cancellation fee. The only other cost is your dedicated savings account — $9.95 setup, $9.95/month, paid to the bank at cost; it is your account and your money4.

When you pay

Only after a debt actually settles

A creditor agrees in writing, you approve the deal and make a payment under it — only then is our fee due, on that one debt. This ordering is federal law (16 C.F.R. §310.4) and it is enforced inside our billing system, not by staff discipline1.

The honest downside

Settlement has real costs — we say so

Your credit will likely be damaged during the programme, creditors may pursue collection or lawsuits, and balances can grow until a debt settles5. That is why every client starts with the free bankruptcy assessment — sometimes bankruptcy, or doing nothing, is the honest answer.

Frequently asked questions

How does McKenzie Adams charge for debt relief?

Our fee is 25% of the amount we actually save you — the balance you owed at enrolment minus what was actually paid to settle. If a debt is not settled, there is no fee on it. We charge no enrolment fee, no monthly programme fee and no cancellation fee. In Illinois the fee is 15% of savings, the statutory maximum.

Is the bankruptcy assessment really free?

Yes. The bankruptcy assessment is free, takes about 10 minutes and carries no obligation. It tells you whether bankruptcy, debt settlement or neither is likely to leave you better off, based on the numbers you provide.

Which states does McKenzie Adams serve?

Most services are available nationwide. Debt Relief is not available in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Georgia or Ohio, and our fee in Illinois is capped at 15% of savings by state law. The state availability page lists exactly what we can offer where you live.

When do I pay for debt relief?

Only after results, debt by debt. Federal law and our own billing system prevent any fee until a creditor has agreed in writing to settle a specific debt, you have made a payment under that agreement, and the fee is the agreed percentage of the saving on that debt.

What kinds of debt can be enrolled?

Unsecured debt: credit cards, store cards, personal loans, medical bills, collections, private student loans, lines of credit and unsecured business debt. Anything secured (a mortgage or auto loan), federal student loans, tax debt, child support, court fines and debts already in judgment cannot be enrolled.

How is debt settlement different from debt consolidation?

Consolidation replaces several debts with one new loan — you still repay the full balance, ideally at a lower rate. Settlement negotiates with creditors to accept less than the full balance as payment in full. Settlement usually saves more but damages your credit during the programme; consolidation preserves credit but saves less. The free assessment compares both for your numbers.

Is McKenzie Adams a law firm or a lender?

Neither — McKenzie Adams is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, and we are not a bank or a lender. We do work with attorneys who help negotiate and resolve debt and credit matters when a case calls for it, and if your situation needs your own legal representation — a foreclosure action, or a bankruptcy filing — we say so and connect you with one.

Will I get sales calls if I check my options?

Only if you tick the consent box, which is optional and never pre-ticked. Leave it unticked and we reply by email only. The state check also happens before we ask for any contact details at all.
