You’re in luck, I’m going to help you with your credit issues. Today we’re going to talk about how to remove all negative information from your credit report. By the end of all this, you will be able to do credit repair for yourself.
A lot of people don’t have time. Maybe you’re trying to buy a house or maybe you are trying to buy a car and need a few points.
Hey, who knows? Maybe you’re at a 520 and you say, “Hey, I need to get myself 20, 30, 40 points. Maybe I’m a 600 I want to go to 640.
Whatever the case is you want to get it a few extra points because you want a better interest rate, maybe a lower down payment, whether that is a car or it is your first house or second house, whatever the case is you need a few extra points.
The first place that you want to look, believe it or not, your credit report.
So, where could you find your credit report at? You could go to Equifax.com, TransUnion.com, or Experian.com.
Now, you can monitor your sites every month on these sites for basically a small monthly fee or you can go to Annualcreditreport.com and one time per year they will give you a full report of the three credit bureaus.
So, if we want to remove inaccurate, erroneous, negative, unverifiable information off our credit report what do we need to do?
Well, the first thing you need to do is pull the report especially if you’re trying to buy a house and you need a few extra points.
The first thing you want to do, look at the report, comb through the report, and see if there is anything that looks inaccurate.
Maybe there’s an account that’s on there, it’s not supposed to be. Maybe the credit limit is supposed to be 20 but it’s reading as 10. maybe there are addresses on your credit report that are not supposed to be there. Maybe a job history from before that you don’t recognize it.
What are the three common most mistakes on a credit report?
Number one is an account that’s not even yours. You look there, you see your accounts, and you’re like, “That’s not mine. It must be inaccurate.”
Number two is you find that on your credit report that you have paid down a debt or paid-off a collection either one and it is still showing on your credit report as an outstanding, huge, huge, huge thing that could be on there.
You’ve already paid for it.
And the third thing is that you’ve got collections that are still showing on your credit report after seven years.
After seven years they legally have to remove it, bankruptcies is 10 years.
So, those are the three most common things that you’re going to comb through your credit report after you print it out and see are these inaccurate, erroneous, nonverifiable information that is on my credit report that is not supposed to be there.
So first things first, we’re going to do that because if we’re trying to get a few extra points to buy a car or buy a house that’s the first place you’re going to go is your credit report to challenge that information because once it’s removed the score goes up.
Once we get our credit report then what we’re going to do is we’re going to get a highlighter and we are going to circle all of the information on our credit report that looks like it is inaccurate, erroneous, not supposed to be there.
For whatever reason, you believe that the information is incorrect.
You’re going to circle, “This is not mine. This is not mine.”
Now on your credit report, you will find the addresses of all three credit bureaus. It’s on each report.
So what do we need to do? We need to take our credit report and we need to make copies, do not send originals, with a copy of your driver’s license clear picture, by the way, all four corners, a copy of your social security card, and a proof of residence which usually is a utility bill or bank statement.
You’re going to send that information over to the three major credit bureaus by certified mail.
Now, why did I say certified? One, because it is tracked. Millions and millions of people are challenging inaccurate information on their credit report to the credit bureaus.
So, if you’re going to do that just make sure it’s certified so it has a tracking number on it and you can track the information that you sent.
Also, at the same time as you’re sending it to the three major credit bureaus with everything circled you’re also going to send it to the creditors.
Yes, I said that. We’re going to have double impact creditors and credit bureaus. Now, for the address where you’re going to want to make sure that you go to your billing statement.
That’s where you’ll the address for the creditors. Now, once we circle the information and we get a certified letter you’re going to have one letter for each credit bureau and you’re going to have one letter for every creditor that is showing inaccurate that you believe is inaccurate.
We’re going to send them out certified so we have tracking information and we’re going to say that this account we believe is inaccurate.
Please review the accounts. And what’s going to happen within 30 days is the credit bureaus are going to come back and they are going to say this is a verified or B, which we hope, deleted.
So, you want to raise your credit score. It’s a very simple process, comb through, check it, remove the stuff that’s not supposed to be there, and your score goes up.
It’s magic.
What is the holy grail of raising points on your credit score? Two things.
This is like the golden goose that everybody wants to know. “How do I raise my credit score?
What do I do?” Are you ready? Pay Your Bills on time every month. Even if you missed a payment before continuing to make your payments on time every month, number one.
Number two, keep your balances low.
Two things, make your payments on time every month, if you have to set up automated payment which I always tell you guys in every video, “Set up your payments automated.”
And number two, make sure your balances on your credit cards are low, especially for you guys that have 200, 300, 400, 500, even a thousand dollar credit limits.
You go out and do one dinner with the family and spend $249 on a $500 card, now you have a 50% utilization and your score is going down significantly and you’re like, “Why is it going down?” You’re at 50% utilization.
So, look at the credit limits in comparison to limits. Make sure that it is under 20% preferably 7% or lower.
That being said, make sure you send out everything to the credit bureaus and the creditors.
They are going to verify the information, they are going to come back, and they are going to say, “Yes, I’m removing it.”
Which you will know by letter or B, “I’m sorry, it is verified.”
Now here’s another way, well two ways. So that’s how you handle your own.
Very simple. B, you could do this as well. Have a family member or a friend say, “Hey, I will add you to my credit card as an authorized user.”
Because what’s going to happen is it’s going piggyback their credit limit, age, and information over to your credit file. So, let’s say dad add you to his Discover, it’s a 10,000 credit limit, five years of perfect payment history, the utilization is very low.
He adds you as an authorized user, you’re his son. That information gets put onto your credit report.
You will be able to see the credit limit, you will be able to see the age, and you’ll be able to see how long it’s been opened.
Obviously, make sure that dad doesn’t have any late payments and his utilization is not really high or that will go onto your credit report as well.
What is a mirror of his goes into yours when he adds you. So, if you have a family member or friend who will help you out, this will give you a score increase if those factors play, what I just shared with you.
I can’t tell you how much. What I can tell you is that the higher the credit limit and the older the card the more impact it will make to your credit.
The more age and the higher credit limit the more impact score-wise and stability on your credit report this will make.
That’s what I can tell you.
If you don’t have a friend or family member that trusts you that says, “Hey, I’ve got this, this and this. I want to help you out.”
Obviously, this is what we can help you with. We have vetted over 500 cardholders to make sure that their utilization is low, never missed a payment, and are willing to share their good credit to help you guys out.
I can help you with that as well. Also, I did a video yesterday on the big announcement to the credit repair that we’re going to be doing.
So, I’m sharing with you how to do it yourself. A lot of people don’t have time.
A lot of people don’t have the patience. I get it. I don’t have the time. I don’t do the credit repair.
We have a team that helps out. But I can tell you this if you don’t have the time, the energy, and you say, “I just don’t know what I’m doing.”
We can help you with there too.
